Hangin with my homies

I'm in beautiful Californ -I-A this week for a hoops tourney in Anaheim. This is my 5th visit to this fine state this year! Do you sense a trend? No one else in my office seems to get to make the transcontinental flight out here as much as I. Some would think it's some sort of punishment and seriously it would be since I HATE the traffic and the plasticity of LA...BUT the reasons I LOVE to come to Cali are the fact that some of my absolute favorite people live there.

Since I am missing yet another major holiday due to work, I flew out early to spend some time with my cousin, Leanne, her husband Matt and 3 boys. They live in Arroyo Grande which is halfway up the coast between LA and San Fran. I love Arroyo Grande. It's just, how can I put this....simple. A nice little town with cute little shoppy shops and a laid back attitude. I find it very relaxing and if I had to move to Cali, I too, would probably settle here. You have easy access to beaches but also mountains and the weather rocks!! Plus if you were missing the big city life, a 3 hour drive North or South will quickly fill your need.

Today we just hung out, watched some old Little rascals shorts in the morn, had a yummy breakfast at a local establishment called McClintocks, went to a crazy Mexican swap meet in Nipomo and then came home and played a rousing game of badmiton in the backyard until we lost all 6 birdies over the fence into the neighbors yard! Bummer.

Here's a few pics from the day.

Jack scores some serious Hot Chocolate this morning for breakfast! YUM!

Caleb in one of his rare moments of sweetness ;-)
I'm sorry but how absolutely cute is this!! Baby Weston. I just cannot get enough of this little baby smellin bundle of sweetness!

Let's add babies to the list of subjects that you just cannot take a bad picture of!!

Curses. I'm it!

Thanks Cat!!

So now I'm tagged and I'll play along because
1. I've been super lax in posting for the past 2 months and
2. I'm at work and so far have accomplished nothing since I got here at 9:15Am and now it's officially 10:56 am so what's a few more minutes of company time.

The rules are:-
Link to the person who tagged you.
Post the rules on your blog.
Write Six Random Things about yourself.
Tag six-or-so other people at the bottom of the post.
Leave comments on their blogs, letting them know they've been tagged!
Let the person who tagged you know when you've written the post.

Here goes:

1. I pretty much eat nachos every night when I'm home. I know...with my cholesterol that's probably not a good thing but I do use the low fat cheese and low sodium chips and organic salsa!! This is the life of a single girl! and nachos are soooooo yummy!

2. My secret desire is to be in a broadway musical. I already know pretty much every Broadway soundtrack ever written and can sing it on pitch! Plus with my tap dancing classes I've been taking I should be ready to audition pretty soon!

3. I changed this one from the previous post..just in case I'm elected to public office or something in the future ;-) My NEW #3...let's see...how about....today I didn't wear a bra! How terribly scandalous of me!

4. I still own a VCR and regularly record my favorite shows on VHS tapes!! Not to mention my car still only has a cassette player in it and yes, I still have cassettes!!

5. I made Knox Blox last night. Remember those? and then I proceeded to eat every last one of them in one sitting.

6. I hate my nose

So, now that I've bared my soul, I am officially tagging ETK, Leanne and Chris.

How my mind works

Today's blog is basically a housekeeping edition. I have all these pics that I've saved up thinking I'm going to write a cute little story around them and obviously I never did. So here's some pics that just make me laugh.

This is a recent pic that I took in the middle of nowhere Florida, Madison to be exact. Yes, Virginia there is an Opie!

Seriously??? I had to buy a loaf just for the comedy factor

This pic was taken on Halloween at a high school football game in Madison, Florida. Madison is halfway between Tallahassee and Jacksonville. So basically the middle of nowhere. I came back from lunch and my crew informed me that an elephant was coming to kick a football before the game. I thought they were ribbin me...But as the picture shows. It was true!

Oh if only there were a school where one could learn to be an adult
