New Post Oh Yeah!

So as I sit here on this snowy (WTF?) Sunday evening I figured it's about time I gave y'all a little blog time. I knew this would happen. I'd start out strong and then totally lose interest. Or perhaps it was lose time...no it's definately interest because I discovered Facebook and I spend WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to much time on it nowadays (dang you Mob Wars!)

So since there's nothing on the telly and I'm caught up on everyone's FB lives I figured maybe I should catch up on this. So here's my stream of consciousness blog because truly I don't have any particular topic to discuss.

So it's snowing right now, or it was. It rained like a mo fo all day yesterday and most of today then everything got eerily quiet and the next time I looked outside voila..... snowage. I have no desire to run outside like most of my other pals did (according to their FB profiles) and take pics of this rare phenomenom because, hello, it's 10:30pm and I'm all snuggly warm in my jams. If perhaps the snow remains till the morn then maybe I'll go take a pic for posteritys sake. I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring because whenever there's a hint of snow in the south everyone freaks which is weird because there's so many northerners here already so what's the big fuss? Of course I always enjoy the humor in it all. School closings...the whole oh no, better stock up on milk and bread because we're gonna be snowed in for awhile....and God forbid the dreaded BLACK ICE.........whatEVER! I think the northerners (of which I'm one of them but since i've lived in the south for 15 years I consider myself a card carrying southerner) just feed the frenzy because who doesn't want a day off from work? Sure I live maybe 4 miles from my office, but if everyone else is freaking out, who am I to deny a day off? Even if it's total BS. You want to kow what real snow is, try living in Connecticut? I lasted 1.5 years there because of this!

Yes that's my car covered almost entirely in SNOW...Try digging out of that one. I moved quickly on applying for the job in Charlotte not long after this. I mean why throw my back out or have a heart attack because of this when I can live in the south and have roughly 9 fabulous warm months out of the year! sans snow usually ;-)

Enough ranting...next topic...last Friday, me and my gal pal, Carrie went to Cajun Canvas. It's alot like those paint your own pottery places but this is a paint your own painting place. Everyday there's a different painting that is featured that you can paint. When I registered, the painting of the night was Mardi Gras Maven, however when the lady called me back to confirm the reser, she told me that a group of 8 girls would also be there and they wanted to paint Daisies. I had no problem with either painting but my friend Carrie had her heart set on Mardi Gras Maven so I had to plead with the owner to let us be rebels and paint the other pic. The lady was concerned because she explained that she basically tells you step by step instructions on how to re-create the painting...pick up the flat brush, put it in the paint...blah blah blah. I told her we were pretty savvy individuals and could probably be successful with little to no guidance as long as we were able to paint what we wanted to paint. So she agreed ....hurrah!!!

Look at me...all artistic like with my canvas

Here's the class...all paintin Daisies

Here's carrie and I in the back...being the bad kids....workin on our Maven

We had to sketch the design onto our canvas first unlike the Daisy painters who just painted a background and then added a few flowers. Personally I think we picked the hardest subject

Mine started looking like Cher in her Bob Mackie days

Making progress!!

The final products!!! You can be as creative as you want or stick closely to the original. If you want something a different color then by all means go with what you want. No one was there to slap your wrist with a ruler. It was super fun and only $35 for a good 3.5 hours...¥ou'd pay that much for dinner and a movie and the owner even lets you bring in your own beverages and snacks if you wish. We brought a bottle of wine, but we were so into painting we didn't even finish it!!!

Let's see what else...oh I recently went on a couple of dates with the same guy BUT I'm not that into him and he's not that into me, so instead of doing the good old reliable fade away tactic I just told him straight out that I just wasn't into him and no offense but I do find him terribly amusing and maybe we could just still hang out. Amazingly he agreed!! ok not so amazingly because really we didn't have that much invested in each other so why not nix the relationshipal pressure and still be able to hang out aka "be friends" Man, I hate the whole dating thing...it's stressful and annoying and I get bored quickly if the conversation isn't stimulating and /or the guy just can't be creative with the date. It's hard though, I mean what else is there to do really other than dinner and a movie, dinner and a movie...? blah blah blah. I guess there's bowling but I don't think a guy will embrace something like Cajun Canvas so those type of artsy fartsy things are out. It's been so long since i've been in a relationship that I can't even remember what me and my boyfriends did when we first started seeing each other. I guess dinner and a movie ;-)

Ok it's now 11:50pm...It's probably time for bed so I can be up bright and early and see what the snow done wrought...

I swear I will TRY to be better and really I have no excuse, especially since my work load has slowed to a mere drip these days. I could be blogging at my desk instead of facebooking all day long...
